my brothers 1974 plymouth duster slide show and starting up

Starting up the 1970 Plymouth Duster with a 1977 360 with Magnum cylinder heads, edelbrock performer rpm air gap, holley 600 electric choke carb, 4-speed manual transmission, and 8 3/4 3.23:1 gears. The car has side exit Dynomax Super Turbo Exhaust. I’d say it starts pretty easy.

Cold start of this ole’ beast. shes got a 318 small block and an automatic transmission, I believe is matching numbers running gear I dont know that for a fact tho. but anyway, lime green was blue before the paint job. Crager SS rims 15×10 in the back. Straight pipes true duals sound beautiful.

A Real Sleeper! Recent body-up restoration, rock solid Virginia body, beautiful Hemi orange paint, new Legendary black vinyl interior, black striping, built 383 ci engine, Demon 4 bbl, Edelbrock aluminum intake, mild camshaft, ceramic headers, electronic ignition, Mopar Performance breather & valve covers, front disc brakes, new aluminum radiator with shroud, 727 reverse manual valve body transmission, bucket seats with factory console, Grant GT steering wheel, factory dash, Autometer gauges, Chrysler am radio, new 3″ dual exhaust, new custom driveshaft, new 3.55 Sure Grip rear end with 489 case, new 4 ½” bolt pattern axles, front & rear sway bars, new 245/60/15 BF Goodrich rear tires, 225/60/15 fronts, 15″ Mopar steel wheels, new bumpers, original broadcast sheet, Mopar Muscle!

Friday Night Drags at Atlanta Motor Speedway. A Ford Pinto (with a chevy V-8 -.-) vs. what I think is a Plymouth Duster. Duster wins (thankfully).

slide show of my 73 duster before its restoration.

This was the two door version of the Valiant…with base interiors, but often large powerplants. Sorry I couldn’t determine what was under the hood on this one, but smog regulations probably severely restricted horsepower at this point. Soon the Valiant would be known as the Volare..and the magic seemed to have passed for Valiant with that name change.

This is the first year for the 360 Duster, and is near the end of the trail for the Duster. It was soon to become “Volare”…I suppose an attempt by Chrysler to inject a European attitude to what was an American car. It couldn’t disguise the fact that these cars were becoming “long of tooth”…and their bright days were over. Some really nice mods to the engine on this car!

Revving my 1970 Plymouth Duster with its 360 magnum and Dynomax Super Turbo mufflers and side exit exhaust. Challenger T/A style
